So I know this community is made up of people from all over the world and I’m curious to know where you’re all from.
So, today I’d like to ask you this, where are you from and what are some things that your home country is known for? 🙂
I’m from the United States and more specifically, live in the state of Wisconsin. The United States is known for many things, one being our major sporting events such as The World Series for baseball and The Superbowl for American Football. They say baseball is America’s favorite past time. 😉 Wisconsin is known for cheese, beer, the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, having the first Marcus Theater, and being the Badger State.
So, now tell me, what about your beloved home would you like to share? 🙂

Hmm, Sopa! I didn’t understand some of that, but I know what Sopa is, that and quesadillas. Yum!

Gourd flowers: bright yellow and floating on the surface (soup) or laid across the melting cheese (quesadillas). Queso oaxaqueño: soft, white, stringy cheese!

Hi, another one from India :p
India’s perhaps the most culturally diverse country in the world. To give an example, we have 21 official languages, which further have several dialects. Every region, every state has a different history. It’s overwhelming!

It sounds fascinating! I’d love to learn more!

I am from Germany and my country used to be known for poets and philosophers. Nowadays I guess it is better known for beer, sausages and bread. Which isn’t a bad thing either 😉

I’ve always loved my German heritage, but want to know more about it! 🙂 And yay for great bread! What do you enjoy most about Germany?
LikeLike
Phew! That is a tricky question. As with many daily things we take a lot for granted.
But I think the things I like most are the language and the dialects – someone from the north will have a hard time understand someone from the south and vice versa – and the many regional traditions. Also the rich history on which those traditions are founded.
Having German heritage what do you associate with Germany? Do you have some German traditions in your family?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hmm. Growing up, I’d always associated Germany with good chocolate, brats, other sausage, beer, The Wall, etc. I’ve studied the country and bit, so I know there is more to it than that though.
The only German traditions I’ve grown up with are saying the German translation of Bless You when one sneezes, can’t spell it though and learning how to do a couple dances. But, I want to experience much more some day, hopefully in Germany one of these years. 🙂

I just had to check with my dictionary what you could mean with brat. I only knew this one for naughty children 😀
Yes, visit some day and bring some time with you. There are some great places here worth to be seen

Oh yes, brat is an American term I think. 😉 I look forward to coming there and when I do, I’ll be sure to tell you. Maybe you could show us a few things? 🙂

We share the cold winters, though it just may be colder by you. I’ve met met a rude Canadian. 😉 I bet it would be a great experience to visit, catch a hockey game, and meet some great people. Do you enjoy hockey personally?

Vegas! Oh the stories I’ve heard when people come back from there. 😉 Are you one of the many night owls? What’s your favorite thing to do?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes that is the answer I was expecting hahaha. Sometimes I find myself being a night owl only occasionally. My favorite things to do out here are the hikes. Red Rock and Mt. Charleston but the heat will do a number on you especially out here.

The heat and I aren’t friends, though here a lot of it is due to the humidity. Hiking, however, does sound great. I bet those sites you mentioned are beautiful!

I agree, The heat and I have a Love/Hate Relationship, ha. Where are you from? Yes the scenery there is amazing. Red Rock over looks Vegas so the view there is beautiful. Mt. Charleston is a forest so that has its own unique taste especially since it’s a desert out here.

What is it like out there? I’ve always wanted to travel places and Wisconsin is on the list.

Right now, hot and humid. 😉 But, there’s a lot to do here. Devil’s Lake is one place where people camp, rock climb, canoe, hike, go just to enjoy the fall colors, etc. We’re also known for The Dells, short for Wisconsin Dells. It has the largest outdoor water park, lots of tourist shops, boat tours, Go-Karts, mini golf, and so on. Summerfest is a music festival that people from out of state make the trip for. They host everything from well known bands you hear on the radio to local bands just trying to catch a break. If you like sports, art, theater, or fine food, we have places to explore for that too. My favorite theater experience in Wisconsin so far has been at The Fireside. They serve you an amazing dinner first and then you make your way into the theater for a wonderful show. I’ve only seen Les Miserables and Sister Act there so far, but they were both great shows. I’d definitely recommend a visit if you can make it someday!

I’m sold with the Devils Lake, it sounds like my place to be. I’m a huge fan of water parks so it’s definitely a must to check that out. You give such detail, thank you 🙂 I’m actually an Artist myself so I try to go to all places that revolve around the art scene. After reading this I will definitely make it a place to visit.

Let me know when! Perhaps we’ll show you some things! 🙂 Wisconsin has so many great things to offer!
I’m not your typical artist, as in painter or sculpter, but I love admiring the work. I have a friend that is a local artist who has had some shows, love going to support her work and give my support. 🙂 My art forms are writing and singing. One day, I hope to be published. For now though, just working on putting together a bunch of my poetry for a collection.

That would be amazing I look forward to that. Amazing! I love ALL art forms, I originally am a painter but I have expanded into writing and have a similar goal to be published one day. I am working on a book and hope to finish by the middle of next year 🙂 my brother is an Artist but in Music.

I bet your paintings are great! Writing is an excellent release, so therapeutic and it gives me a sense of freedom to truly express who I am. I wish you so much luck with your own writing endeavors! I’d gladly read it!
It’s the same with music. It is a part of who I am. What does your brother do? Does he play an instrument or sing? Does he write music?
