Sing Me a Song

20160609_193652

My daughter, Claralynn loves to be sung to and listening to music in general. I’m humbled by the fact that she loves not only the music we play for her in the cd player, but also the music I sing to her, well known songs and ones I made up on the spot.

This is the one I made up today….

Sweet baby girl

Sleepy baby girl

You want to close your eyes

You’ve grown weary

But you don’t want to miss a thing

So you fight and fight

As your eyes grow heavy

Sweet baby girl

Sleepy baby girl

Follow the path to dream land

The world will be here when you wake

I know you don’t want to miss a thing

I see you fight and fight

As your eyes grow heavier still

Sweet baby girl

Sleepy baby girl

You’ve fallen fast asleep

What do you dream about

I wonder as I look at your sweet face

Soon you’ll wake from your slumber

And your eyes will be alert and ready to journey once more. ♡

♡ And hey, she’s been asleep for over two hours. There’s something beautiful and heartwarming in watching your child sleep. ♡
